Tenant's Agent
We act as your representative or Tenant's Agent. Until recently all brokers / agents / RealtorsŪ represented the landlord. They were
obligated only to the landlord, NOT the Tenant. Their goal was to lease the
landlord's property at the highest possible price. Today, in Texas, Tenants may be
represented by entering into a written agreement with a Tenant's Agent.
Important Notes
When you work with Blakeman Properties or our affiliates as
your Tenant's Agent the following applies:
- You must have good
credit.
- You must provide a current
copy of your credit report.
- You must sign a Tenant Representation Agreement authorizing us (or
affiliate) to represent you.
- You must agree to work with us (or our affiliate)
exclusively.
- Unfortunately, not all applicants qualify for representation.

Rental properties are usually leased no more than one (1) to
three (3) weeks prior to move-in. If you are more than one (1) month away from being
ready to occupy your new home please wait to start the search process until closer to your
move date.
Many people have credit problems that need to be corrected
before they begin the rental search. Landlords are concerned about the financial
reliability of their tenants and rightfully so. Before shopping for a new lease:
1. Obtain a copy of your credit report. 2. Verify that your
credit record is accurate and up to date. 3. Resolve any adverse credit issues
