No Need To Be "Local"
“Where is your office?” is the first question most
people ask when looking for a
Realtor. Their belief is they need someone located
in their neighborhood. A good point, yes?
The truth is No. Whether buying or selling, successful
representation by a Realtor
has absolutely nothing to do with office location. In
fact, most clients never have any need to visit a Realtor's office
at all.
But don't Realtors need to be “local” to know the
neighborhood? Again, not true.
Today's most important neighborhood knowledge -
comparable sales - is found electronically. Being “just down the
street” or across town doesn't matter.
Qualifications and expertise of the Realtor should be
the overriding factors in your
selection process, not where they office. After all,
would you select your doctor or lawyer based primarily upon their
office location?
So, use care in selecting your Realtor. Look for an
expert in real estate not a
nearby office. Then let him help you with the “Location,
Location, Location” of your home, not his office.
